Installation problem with “Fall Creator Update”

Answer

You have updated your Windows 10 with the Fall Creator Update and problems are starting to appear with the installation of Fritz 16 or other applications?

With this update Microsoft has added to the operating system a new function to protect you from blackmailing software, the so-called ransomware. This function controls changes which are implemented by applications in the existing filing system and informs the user about this when he or she accesses a protected folder.

The disadvantage is that in specific cases installation problems can occur.

In the case of Fritz and our other programs the function can also lead to the saving and replacing of games not working.

If problems crop up with the installation, you should deactivate the function. If problems crop up with the saving of games, you should also deactivate the function at least while you are working with the program.
